Position: Intermediate Java Developer
The role will mainly involve: enhancing / growing Java skills; learning Xbridge's application in order to maintain and extend the functionality of Xbridge's core marketplace applications; working with more senior staff to develop greenfield e-commerce applications and enable bespoke, as well as standardised, data integration with clients and partners.
Requirements
- 2 - 3 years of commercial experience building dynamic database driven Web applications using Java 1.5 technologies such as JSP JSTL XML and servlets). Initial emphasis for this role is on front-end to middle server development within an MVC framework. The ideal candidate has a good understanding of commercial financial services with the ability to communicate ideas with the rest of the business
- Desirable: exposure to source control tools, build and unit testing tools (Perforce, ANT, JUnit, etc.) and to Middleware/Java Application Servers (at least one of: Tomcat/JBoss /JRun/Weblogic/Websphere). Exposure to SQL databases (Oracle/MS SQL Server) and UNIX/Linux.
- Essential: BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Maths or similar, with an excellent degree from a top tier university.
- Analytical mind and creative approach to problem solving.
