Position: Lead Software Engineer / Architect
The role mainly involves
- Working with internal business clients to understand their requirements and translate into value-generating technical solutions
- Designing, developing and implementing new systems or components of Xbridge's application portfolio
- Enhancing and developing existing application systems or components
- Supporting, troubleshooting and managing production applications
- Enabling bespoke and standardised data integration with clients and partners
- Managing and reviewing development team coding practices, including enforcement of approved architectures, methodologies and standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building experience building dynamic database driven Web applications using J2SE & J2EE components & frameworks.
- 3+ years experience with enterprise database servers such as Oracle 10g/MS SQL Server.
- 1+ year of experience with Web Services and SOA.
- Team leading, lead developer or other management experience is essential.
- Good Unix skills, including experience with various OS flavours, underlying daemons, protocols and tools. Linux, Solaris, Apache, etc
- Experience with XP development methodologies, as well as other approaches; strong knowledge of source control tools and release management, build and unit testing tools (Perforce, ANT, JUnit, etc.)
- Deployment / Administration experience with one of Tomcat, Weblogic or Webshpere.
- BSc or MSc (preferred) in Computer Science, Maths or similar, with a minimum 2.1 from a top tier university (or equivalent).
- Analytical mind and creative approach to problem solving.
- Object Oriented Design & Development using UML.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience in financial services and/or a strong e-commerce experience is very useful.
- Experience of Spring, Hibernate, AJAX, OO Design Patterns is a bonus.
